Sunday was my test day, but I’ve come down with a cold. Not the little cold, the one that makes you a bit sniffly for a few days. This is a full-fledged cold that I’m fighting with all the zinc, vitamin C and white tea that I can. So I’ll be delaying my testing until I’m feeling a bit better, and hopefully I won’t lose too much strength in the meantime. Wish me luck!

As you may know it’s been two weeks since my last update, which means I should have tested again, but I chose not to in favor of an extra couple of rest days. I already know that I have to repeat the last two weeks as there’s no way I’ll be able to do more than 30 push-ups in one set. I had to drop from column 2 to column 1 and even that was hard, so I’m repeating weeks 3 and 4 and I’ll test again in another two weeks. It’s a bit of a setback, but I can tell I’m still making progress and ultimately that’s what matters. I completed 82 push-ups today, and I’m pretty proud of that!

I completed the second week of the six-week hundred push-ups program last week, and over the weekend I completed the first in-program test. I did 21 push-ups in one set! That’s 11 more push-ups than I could do in one set when I started the program. Whoopie! On tap for today: 5 sets totaling 83 push-ups. If you find that prospect scary, you are not alone…

Next week I’ll be joining some of the girls on Team Estrogen in taking the Hundred Push-ups Challenge. I’m not one known for having a lot of upper body strength, and I’ve never done more than 20 push-ups in one day, even in multiple sets, so this will be a real challenge for me. Anyone else want to join in on the fun?
